41. Site Plan of Middleton Hall
Built between 1793 and 1795, a new Middleton Hall was built here to replace the old 17th century Hall, which was turned into a farmhouse. Designed by Samuel Pepys Cockerell, it was a large mansion of neo-classical design, built in stuccoed brick with a grand ionic portico. Sadly, it burnt down in 1931 and was demolished. You can see a layout of the Hall's main rooms on site.
