30. Nursery Glasshouses
Three large glasshouses serve a vital purpose in propagating new plant material for the Garden. They also act as a quarantine area for incoming Mediterranean plants destined for the Great Glasshouse. Rare plants, which may never be put on display, are also grown here. Scientists attached to the Garden are currently researching the DNA of some of these plants, so that our greater understanding of their biology and history can help to inform us about their future conservation needs.
