Come rain or shine

There are two excellent chances to enjoy outdoor theatre at the National Botanic Garden of Wales during August.

Cometh the glorious 12th, cometh Chapterhouse Theatre Company with their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Described by no less an authority than The Stage as “a triumph”, the curtain goes up on Chapterhouse’s Dream at 7.15pm on Tuesday August 12.

Tickets, which are now on sale from the Garden, Carmarthen Tourist Information Centre (01267 231557) and See Tickets on 0871 2200260, cost £12 for adults, £8 for students and children, while a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is £35.

The Garden will reopen at 6.30pm in plenty of time for a picnic before the 7.15pm start; please bring you own rugs and low-backed seating.

On Saturday August 30, Quantum Theatre presents a fun family entertainment show set in the days of sail ships and pirates.

Treasure Island tells of the adventures of Jim Hawkins and his search for the buried treasure of the notorious pirate Captain Flint. 2.30pm admission free (include in the Garden’s normal entry cost).
